SSIG PT After Hours presents: Amanda Burtraw, DPT speaking on Concussions

Amanda Burtraw Bio:

"I graduated with my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse in 2012. I started my career at the former Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (now Shirley Ryan Ability Lab) and received valuable mentorship in working with neurological diagnoses (including TBI). I moved to Minnesota in 2015 to work as an outpatient neurological physical therapist for Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute (CKRI). With minimal clinical experience specific to concussion/mTBI, I made it a professional goal to be able to effectively work with this population. The diagnosis and treatment of patients with concussion continues to evolve, and I remain very engaged in concussion management, including the role of PT Concussion Lead for CKRI, participation as a Research Therapist in a concussion study through Courage Kenny Research Center, recent completion of 360 Neuro Health’s Certificate of Competency in Vestibular Rehabilitation, and ongoing self-study through CEUs, article review, and collaboration with a comprehensive rehab team. I am also a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy and enjoy being a Clinical Instructor to DPT students. I currently live in Roseville, MN with my husband and 2 daughters (ages 3 and 5)."
