About This CourseRegistrants must provide proof that they have completed KT1-KT2 prior to attending this course if they did not take a KT1-2 course with MNPTAin the past. Upon completion, attendees will be eligible to take the CKTP exam.
Course Objectives- Review basic principles of kinesiotaping and the corrective techniques
- Relate how to facilitate or inhibit specific muscles for muscle imbalance at the shoulder girdle and pelvis
- Expand repertoire of taping for specific conditions
- Discuss taping strategies for specific conditions
Speaker BiographyDeanna M. Wanzek , PT, PCS, CKTI, CLT is a graduate from the Mayo Foundation School of Physical Therapy. She has specialized in pediatrics for the past thirty years utilizing a holistic approach to evaluation and treatment. She incorporates myofascial release, craniosacral, muscle energy and other complementary skills. She is certified in the use of Universal Exercise Unit/TheraSuit Method. She teaches in the Pediatrics course at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is recognized by the KinesioTaping Association as a Certified Instructor and was named Instructor of the Year for 2007. She is also a Certified Lymphatic Therapist. She is an APTA board certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist. DeDe is employed by St Croix Therapy in Hudson, Wisconsin, a non-profit organization serving children.
